Guest artist Jeff Midkiff performs the regional premiere of his acclaimed, folk-inspired Concerto for Mandolin “From the Blue Ridge” - a fascinating reflection of bluegrass-based themes that combine with sophisticated orchestral sounds, a touch of swing and jazz, as well as some foot-stomping, toe-tapping rhythms that are just great fun to hear! Also a delight will be the NFSO performance of Charles Ives’ Central Park in the Dark - a kaleidoscope of sounds heard while on an evening stroll in 1906 New York City - and Antonin Dvorak’s famous New World Symphony.

Transfer of Bob Moog Archives Leads to Controversy

So...Bob Moog's widow apparently reneged on an agreement with Moog's daugher Michelle Moog-Koussa to officially transfer ownership of Dr. Bob's archives to The Bob Moog Foundation, a non-profit organization that has been collecting and restoring the archives for over 7 years. The archives are slated to be transferred to Cornell University where Dr.Moog received his engineering degree about the same time the Moog synthersizer was being demonstrated at the AES.
Ms. Moog-Koussa who is the founder of the Boob Moog Foundation had this to say: "The Moog Family is saddened and surprised not to be part of the discussion to move our father’s archives away from the organization where they would receive the most well-rounded care, and away from the area where the Bob Moog Foundation, Moog Music, and Moogfest are located."
